Great Idea #1

What if bigger malls, had twenty-five stores that participated in an advent calendar type of deal? Where on each of the twenty-five days one of the stores opens there door with a special holiday deal, bigger than their normal holiday deals. A restaurant could do that with their daily specials, but instead they could make it a holiday- themed dish and call it an advent calendar special, where each day comes with a new treat (special)

Just to let you guys know that if I see any of these ideas, I have copyright on them. Send a hungry college girl her due for helping big companies market their wares.

Birthdays

Hey UIndy,

So, as you get older, you begin to realize that birthdays aren't as big of a deal, like when you were a kid. You learn that a head nod and a quickly murmured, "Happy Birthday" is now the equivalent to the presents you got when you were younger. Now the only people that buy you presents are your close friends, family, and maybe your roommate. Basically, the people that feel obligated too.
It also becomes a day that instead of really celebrating the day of your birth, you start to feel like you're having a mid-life crisis, before you even hit the tender age of 20.
That's all okay and somewhat normal. We all think of things that we'd like to have done in our life right now, but the key is remembering that we have time. Everyone does things at their own pace, from finding out who you are, to who you want to be and then turning that person into a reality.
We're in college. It's the time to take chances and make mistakes, because how else are we supposed to learn?
Just remember that doing the same thing over and over again and hoping to get a different result is the definition of insanity, so don't try to relearn the lesson, by making the same mistakes over and over again. Make new mistakes, big and small. Put yourself out there, when you feel down and don't want to talk to people take the time to be by yourself. Don't be one of those cliche people that only decide to take some time to be by themselves after a break-up. You can still find time to be by yourself and be in a relationship.
I didn't intend to make this a PSA about taking care of yourself, but just remember that when you're feeling down a blanket wrapped around you and a warm drink (esp. hot cocoa) is good for the soul.
